Turkey Day

I am so excited that this week is Thanksgiving. I get to spend it with my family in Florida. I get to see my grandparents, who travel to Florida during the cold, winter months in Ohio. I also get to see my other family that lives in Colorado. It is the one time a year that we all know that we will get to spend some time together.

My favorite Thanksgiving food would have to be turkey. I am a picky eater, so I don’t eat much other food at Thanksgiving time. Turkey is always my go-to.  I am a strong believer in desserts. My favorite Thanksgiving dessert would have to be plain old cheesecake. My mom makes the absolute best cheesecake I do believe.
After Thanksgiving dinner, my family likes to play board games. The whole family is quite competitive. We always joke that the neighbors will call the police because we get too rambunctious (thank goodness no one ever has called them on us). We also joke that we need to keep an emergency medical kit nearby due to injuries during gaming. Last year, we played spoons, and if you don’t know the game of spoons, how sad. We have to use plastic silverware because the metal ones go flying and nobody wants a metal spoon to the face. We also scratch and fight until someone can get the spoon. It really is a fun time though.

We just recently started doing Thanksgiving in Florida, and I think it is one of my new favorite traditions. Who doesn’t want to stuff their face with a whole lot of food and then walk the beach looking like twice the size you were when you arrived? Some people say that tan fat is better than white, pale fat. I think that I have now become a firm believer in this idea as well. I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving as much as I will!

  1. My favorite Thenksgiving food is turkey too. It is the one I must eat. I also like to eat a lot of variations of pies. My favorite one is pumpkin pie. I got to eat that one last Thursday. Thanksgiving is the day I can eat lots of foods, so this is my favorite holiday.

  2. I am a big mash potatoes and gravy man myself which is probably why I feel like I also gain 10 pounds after Thanksgiving. That is awesome that you get to go to Florida for Thanksgiving. Most of my family lives in Ohio so I will stick with the Ohio weather for now.
